Trademark Violation Suit Against Urban Outfitters

Following up on one of my blogs from last year, the Navajo Nation has filed suit against Urban Outfitters for violations of the federal Indian Arts and Crafts Act, which makes it illegal to sell arts or crafts in a way that falsely suggests they were produced by Native Americans. ArtInfo also has posted an interesting article on the subject .

Trademark and copyright violation is an important issue for all artists and crafters. Desiging a product is hard work - the result of training, experience and the creative process. After you take so much time bringing your idea to life, it is vexing beyond belief when you discover your arts/crafts design or promotional copy is stolen.
