Six Free Arts and Crafts Resource Websites

Looking for some fantastic current resources for the business side of your arts and crafts company? I recommend six websites providing free or inexpensive services from scrapbooking software programs to legal advise to synching note taking programs.

Working in Arts and Crafts

While you may not live in the area for this craft instructor job at Michaels, you can always approach your local Michaels to see if they need instructors in your field of art or craft.

Trademark Violation Suit Against Urban Outfitters

Following up on one of my blogs from last year, the Navajo Nation has filed suit against Urban Outfitters for violations of the federal Indian Arts and Crafts Act, which makes it illegal to sell arts or crafts in a way that falsely suggests they were produced by Native Americans. ArtInfo also has posted an interesting article on the subject .

Trademark and copyright violation is an important issue for all artists and crafters. Desiging a product is hard work - the result of training, experience and the creative process. After you take so much time bringing your idea to life, it is vexing beyond belief when you discover your arts/crafts design or promotional copy is stolen.

Preparing the Form W3

If you prepare the W-2s and W-3 for your employees in house, you may be interested in using my W-3 work paper to reconcile the W-3 to your 941s.

Closing the Arts and Crafts Sale

Interesting article online at the Crafts Report, "How to Get Customers 4 Times More Likely to Buy". Also, don't forget about the Crafts Report Facebook Contest. Deadline to submit is May 31.

Montblanc Pursuing Counterfeit Companies

Very interesting news for all artists and crafters - jewelry and watch manufacturer Montblanc is suing Google for the names of companies that are allegedly advertising counterfeits on Googles AdWords program.

Conquering Procrastination

Having trouble moving ahead with your arts and crafts business because of procrastination? Check out my three articles on the subject which give some great advise on how to get past your procrastination slump!
